I am thrilled to announce that Whispers: Waves of the Diary has received incredible recognition at the IMDb-qualified Elegant International Film Festival! The film has been nominated for Best Short Film and is a finalist in two additional categories: Best Director and Best Experimental Film. This achievement means so much to me and to everyone who contributed to this journey.
Whispers: Waves of the Diary is an experimental short film essay, just over three minutes long, capturing the essence of the picturesque town of Whitstable. With serene imagery of sunsets over the sea, moments from the vibrant town centre, and graceful yachts gliding across the water, the film paints a vivid portrait of the town’s maritime heritage. The cinematic techniques, visual metaphors, and evocative music by AudioCoffee combine to offer an intimate, timeless journey, enhanced by the voice of the narrator that guides viewers through this reflective experience.
Being part of the Elegant International Film Festival is a huge honour, especially knowing the festival’s dedication to showcasing emerging talent and its commitment to unique, creative voices in filmmaking. To see Whispers: Waves of the Diary recognised with nominations in such prestigious categories is more than I ever expected.
This recognition is not only a personal achievement but a testament to the hard work of my talented crew and everyone who believed in this project. I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Elegant IFF for this incredible opportunity and to the community that continues to support and inspire my work.
Filmmaking is a journey of passion, persistence, and storytelling. It’s incredibly rewarding to see Whispers resonate with both audiences and judges, and I’m so proud to share Whitstable’s whispers and waves with the world.
Stay tuned for more updates as the festival progresses. Thank you for being part of this journey—your support means everything to me!
